She is Senior Lecturer in English Literature at the University of the Illes Balears, after completing her PhD on Literature and Women Studies at the University of Oviedo (2002, Outstanding Doctorate Award). Her research interests focus on the exploration of gender and ethnicity in Contemporary Anglophone Literature and, more recently, on the analysis of gender, immigration, and the use of urban spaces in literary representations of the contemporary city. Some of her most outstanding publications include Santa o hereje: la otra Teresa de Ávila en Impossible Saints de Michèle Roberts (2006), Nación, diversidad y género. Perspectivas críticas (2010, co-editor), and De-Centring Cultural Studies. Past, Present and Future of Popular Culture (2013, co-editor).
Areas of Interest:
Contemporary British Literature by female writers, diasporic literatures in English, feminist theory, postcolonial theory, women and gender studies, urban narratives in English, urban theory.
