ELIZABETH RUSSELL BROWN

She is Senior Lecturer at the University Rovira i Virgili (Tarragona, Spain). Her research focuses on women's studies, particularly in the area of Utopian Studies. She is part of various editorial boards, including Contemporary Women's Writing (Oxford University Press). She contributes to this project through the interdisciplinary studies of utopias and antiutopias. She obtained a BA in German Language and Literature, and her PhD thesis consisted of a study on utopias and dystopias written in English by female authors from 1792 to 1945. She was invited by the Insitut Català de les Dones (Generalitat de Catalunya) to deliver a Conference at the Palau de Pedralbes on the celebration of Woman's Day. She also had the honour to commend Professor Gayatri Spivak in a ceremony for the award of Doctor Honoris Causa from the University Rovira i Virgili. She has four acknowledged research terms and was awarded a Premio a la Calidad Docente in 2014. A list of her recent publications can be found here:
