    Brief CV:

While I was conducting research for my PhD, I taught languages and literatures in various US universities (University of Wisconsin-Green Bay, Wabash College, The University of Chicago). Since my return to Spain, I have taught classes in English Philology at all levels (BA, MA and PhD), specializing in contemporary literatures in English. I have lectured as well in 3 MA programs, one of them recognized with the prestigious Erasmus Mundus seal. I regularly supervise MA thesis (16) and PhD thesis (7 in total; 3 read, 1 FPI scholarship, 1 U. Oviedo scholarship; 4 in progress, 1 Marie Curie contract, 1 FPU, 1 "Severo Ochoa" scholarship) in the PhD in Gender and Diversity program.

As regards my research activities, I specialize in the literary and theatrical productions of African and Caribbean diasporas, having published internationally in these areas, including 1 single-authored book, and 3 edited volumes, one of them published by Routledge, one of the most prestigious publishers in the field of literary and cultural studies. I have also published various articles and book chapters (19) in authoritative national and international journals and academic publishers. I regularly give papers at international conferences (34), some of them by invitation (6). I belong to the Research Group "Intersections" and I am a researcher and ERS supervisor at the Marie Slodowska Curie-International Training Network, "GRACE. Gender and Cultures of Inequality" (UE-15-GRACE-675378).

As PI, I have coordinated the research project "AFROPOLITANS: Contemporary Afropolitan Narratives. Reading Alternative 21st Century Black Cartographies", financed by the University of Oviedo (UNOV-13-EMERG-16) and, in 2011 I received a post-doctoral grant "José Castillejo" (MICINN2010-JC2010-0171) to join for 4 months the research group led by Dr. Gayatri Spivak, profesor of English and Postcolonial Studies at Columbia University. I have also been a visiting lecturer or scholar at Lodz University (2018), the University of Melbourne (2017), The Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University (2013, 2014), Rutgers University (2014) and the University of Leeds (2010). In terms of administration, since 2011 I coordinate the Erasmus Mundus MA in Women and Gender Studies at the University of Oviedo, and in 2015 I served as Vice-Dean of International Relations at the Faculty of the Humanities (U.
